Nat'l News: Christian Group's President Accused Of Hiring Prostitute

7/21/07 -- Salisbury, N.C. - Coy Privette has resigned from the Board of Directors of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and its Executive Committee, following revelations July 19 that he has been charged with six counts of aiding and abetting prostitution.

Privette, 74, is facing six counts of misdemeanor aiding and abetting prostitution by renting a hotel room and paying for sexual acts.

Authorities said Tiffany Denise Summers, 32, of Salisbury is charged with six counts of prostitution.

Police said officers were investigating a forged check case, which led them to the prostitution charges.
